That is a very cool scrap box. Now if I could find the time to do that with some of my scraps.

We had a sure 'nuff gully washer last night.  Got 2.0" of rain inside of 20 minutes!  I had just got inside when it started.

Need to design a rack, to keep 4 items from rattling around inside...

Doesn't look like I'll have enough room to also have the Stanley No. 80 in here, as well.    2nd coat was brushed on today....need to find a handle or two, to carry this box around the shop....

Kaizan foam works well for cases like this.

Hmm...needed a wee bit off the top...

Already notched to fit in the case....laid out 4 lots...bandsaw to cut...

Will transfer these marks once the waste is chopped out..

then a dry fit....with the spokeshaves..

Angles set by the 'shaves...as to how well they will sit....then..

Bead of glue, press fit to "stick" it in place,,,add a coat of shellac..

And set these back into their new home....closed the lid, and gave the outside it's third coat of shellac..

 

Almost done,,,stay tuned..

I would have sent you some foam.

Added a chain to the lid....may heat up the old Branding Iron?

3 coats of shellac, followed by 3 coats of clear gloss poly...

End view...stands 5-1/2" tall...1-1/2" of which is the legs...width is 7-1/4"

back of the case...Brass hinges showing up...length is 12-3/8" long...

Simple little latch up front....at least it does hold the lid shut..

Added the chain to the lid....there is a black screw holding it to the lid....Stuff in under the shaves' irons?   Drawer liner foam....in case an iron should drop out on a spokeshave..

I think I can call this one..done?
