payoff for a good deed

So, the story began just over three years ago...

I was set up at the local Farmers Market, chatting with another vendor and she mentioned in passing that her father had a small sawmill, not a business just the equipment. Several weeks later a customer was asking around trying to find someone to buy several walnut logs that he had (the trees were on his property and had died) he was trying to sell them  as firewood. I put him in contact with the person with access to the sawmil, told the both of them all I wanted was a couple of planks for my scrollsaw.
Got the planks last week the largest is 7' long, 10 " across (average width more than 12 1/2 at the widest) and 1 5/8 thick. I'm not sure what I'll do with them yet.

Also, my local HF had a Bauer 12 1/2 inch benchtop thickness planner marked down to $189 (open box return) so I bought it. (I've been looking at one for a while and couldn't pass on the price).

Here's a picture:

Score! Congratulations.

Nice!

Great return on a good deed. That middle board looks to be a good looking shelf. I would tack a straight edge on the left side and run it through the table saw. Plane it and wire brush the remaining live edge, a couple of scroll sawn brackets & you're all set.
