New mortising jig

I don't know if you guys saw this, and I'm sure there will be a lot of discussion about the price, but it's still a pretty cool tool. Like a Mortise Pal on steroids with some very expensive paint.

Yeah, I saw this, but didn't even bother to look at the probably exorbitant price.

Years ago, I made a simple jig that would work to center a router-cut mortise in 3/4" stock.

I later attended a Glen Huey seminar and he cut mortises with a palm plunge router and a fence.  That seemed to work well.

I got a BeadLock set given to me (the poor-man's Domino)  it works well and the premium version has straight-wall guides so after drilling holes, you can chisel the edges flat and not have to buy the special BeadLock loose tenons.  It works fine and just takes a bit longer.

Then a friend moved to a retirement village and gave me his mortising machine.

So I think I'm set without this, thanks.  :-)

I use dowels and those little pointed dowel pin inserts to mark the other side. Those inserts are around $6 a set. Inserts.

Woodpeckers is another red tool, along with red saw blades, I can do without. :P

@Fred W. Hargis Jr I'm not sure if anyone else is catching on but I happened to watch the video a while ago.  But this is almost one of those times where it seems a too good to be true sort of thing.  ESPECIALLY with the cost of the thing.  Got my mind going towards a possible scam.  Although I could be wrong with that.

Just read, not expected to be shipping until Dec 31, 2021.   And it's on sale for $600 right now.
