May 9, 20215 yr Popular Post Had to make a few custom sized tarps for my neighbor. Was getting low on grommets so had him pick me up 1 kit. All I asked for. He brings 3, and they are all kits not just refills. Okay so now the small spot I had for that is not going to cut it. No problem made extra storage boxes couple years back so I have the box, just need small trays inside it. Made 3 trays. One for the tools. Used 12mm magnets to hold them in place. Hey why not? Other two trays are for gold and silver colored grommets. Used 3 coats of shellac. Small project but kept me busy while other pieces got glued up for another project. Box Trays Loaded up Stored and ready for use.
May 9, 20215 yr Popular Post Nice work and that annoying organization. If I had all that organization, I would not find much. LOL

May 9, 20215 yr Popular Post I'm not much of a believer in reincarnation but I'm starting to think @Gunny previously owned a hardware store in the 1870's.
May 9, 20215 yr Popular Post I asked my 7 year old grandson if he believed in reincarnation. He said he didn't when he was my age.

Some years back, I took my VW Beetle to the local VW service center. Their waiting room was a windowed loft above the service area floor. By luck, the bay where they worked on my car was just below the windows and I could see the technician working. His tool chest/cabinet had every tool neatly arranged. Each tool he used was cleaned and put back in its original location as soon as he had finished using it. It was almost like watching a surgeon perform an operation.

His idea to standardize to eliminate many different sizes of boxes is something I have worked with recently on a build and it does help if you are organizing a drawer and need say a double wide box instead of single box.

Perhaps the only thing worse is having to leave the site to run out for parts or hardware. Edited May 11, 20215 yr by kmealy
