It seems like a week or so ago I was still wearing coveralls while working either outside or in the shop as it was on the cool-ish side.  Then a few days ago I woke up to find the yard full of daffodils and many spring blooming trees in full bloom, and temps bumping 80's :)  My kinda weather!  But, it is mid-March already.

Our son came in Sat. evening with plans to spend the week with us.  We just hung out and visited yesterday.  During the afternoon his best friend & family came by to visit also.  They had just received their jabs, so we were pretty much their first visits in the last year also.  How very strange to visit after over a year.  Some of us are grayer, the small kids are not so small, everyone has had "covid projects" that they've worked on over the past year to talk about...

Anyhow, while the son works remotely this week during the day I will piddle with the dresser build.  Some sanding today and will pick up the paint in the next day or so.  Wife has an early dr. appt. tomorrow, I have a dental appt. on Wednesday AM.  Lots of visiting in the evenings.  Might get some rain this week, if not I will be watering the new sod in...

OSB can be edge banded and look pretty decent. Kudos to my helper he did all the construction. Quite proud of him looks good and fit well. All 8 fingers to hold clock and thermometer were spot on.

Labeled my toolbox. Used magnetic sheets, printed labels from computer, then contact paper. Cut to fit.

Well I started the game of 50 questions & that went south on me reeeeal quick. She pulls out a folder and shows me what cabinets, tile, countertop, lighting & colors she has picked out. Shows me a 3d rendering, my daughter made, that shows how it all works. Gives me a budget sheet and tells me I need to fill in the cost of what I need for drywall, electrical & plumbing and the approximate amount I should need to spend. Asked how soon I could start after Easter. Finally she asks if I had no other plans for the day that she would take me shopping so I can see what she picked out. I told her to let me wash the egg off my face and I would be with her shortly.

Hard to see from the photos, but it's all bookmatched.  There is not that much contrast without the camera flash.  This is wood salvaged from the stiles of a discarded church door. So it was only a bit wider than 3" and about 2" thick.  Resawn down to avoid all the mortises.

Saw someone make a caliper holder using a CNC on another site.  Gave me an idea for my own.  While I lack a CNC I do have a router and have used it to cut Styrofoam and other types of foam for holders before.  Once I was happy with fit used my heat gun on medium and just waved over it till I saw it gloss back over.  Pretty satisfied with results.
