It has been several years since I have made one of the big clocks - - - so - - -- In looking at the few big clock patterns I decided to make the Work Shop Clock - - - I also decided to put the motor in it so the table saw, disk sander, etc would actually work - - - CherryTree did not include the part number of the motor that was discussed in the ad- - - called them and was advised that they no lo9nger carry said assembly ! ! ! !  Found one that I hope works.

These types of projects are always impressive. 

Fred I'm not sure if you are familiar with movement thicknesses so I'll say get the movement you will use with the clock and make sure the hole size matches the movement stem diameter and it being long enough for the washer and nut. Klockit does give free hands with their movements so make sure where ever you buy get the hands at the same time and you do have to choose which style hands you prefer..

  I believe I remember reading here on the Patriot site someone ended up with hands that didn't fit ...

I did decide to buy all my movements from Klockit so every thing will fit when its time to insert the movement and hands. also most all my customers prefer the wide hands, makes it easier to see the time.

I was going to show a clock from a distance but they have removed the add a picture thingy down at the bottom left side!!!

WOW! That's gonna be one fantastic clock!

Patch - yes I am familier with the right size holes and stem length - made that mistake only once expensive mistake.

Off to a great start Fred. Very nice clock.

Wow!  This is one progress report that I will be watching.  Love the shop on the first floor.  Hope there is a kitchen upstairs where the cook is preparing the meals.  

That's coming along nicely.  You must have the patience of a saint to do all of that fine scroll work.  I like all of the fiddly bits, just not sure I could make myself sit down and do it.

Bob - I used 1/4" Maple for the railing.

Steve - great idea for the kitchen - will see what I can do

Hey guys, been a while since I have updated pictures.  Clock is almost done.  Still have some work to do in making the pullies since a couple of them were, shall we say, out of round.  Tough making them on the saw.  Any how, here are the pix.

The "shop" part of the first floor.  Grinder in front, sander in the back (red) and table saw in the back left corner.  Using rubber bands for the drive belts.

 

Completed clock.  With the back on, it's kind of tough to see the work shop. Soooooooooo

 

In inserted a 60-light fairy light string.  Shown here with the lights on.

 

Here is the insert that I used.  Interesting to see the gears.  But.........

 

I put some lights inside the clock box.

Steve, The worker uses the stairs to go to the second floor where there will be the apartment.
