Friday July 24th 2020-What's on Your Weekend Agenda?

:ChinScratch:...Friday again, where did this week go?

Hopefully everyone is staying safe.

As for me, I'm now waiting on a part for the Jeep. No spark for the second time in a month.:PullingHair:

Hopefully the cheap part is the fix.

Ordered a distributor pickup on eBay for about 1/4 the price the parts stores wanted.

Nobody had it in stock, and would have to order it anyway.

So what's your plans for the weekend?

I'll be doing much of nothing.

Working on finishing window treatments for this active I built at basement door. Had to make a aluminum brake to bend the tin. It worked but needs some tweaking to become a permanent tool.  Have some burglar bars to install tonight to keep people and larger animals out.  At $300 for windows I saw no need to have them.

Thanks so much Larry for staying on top of the Friday Topic each week! You are greatly appreciated.

My Friday is always one big doc appt after another, my weekly labs to track my blood, then a visit to my actual doc, etc, it only takes about 4 hrs total, but it kills the entire day it seems. Thank goodness for my 10/40 work week, every Friday off. I can take care of this stuff without going into my vacation or sick leave.

I am going to try to get a shooters bench made this weekend, you can see my inquiry here, if anyone has any ideas I'd sure appreciate some feedback.

I wish everyone a safe and sane weekend, and be careful, and stay healthy!

Got an easy out for those cammed out torx. Hope it does the trick.  If not, it'll be a dremel to cut a slot for a common screwdriver. Next, comes the C4!

Out of wood blanks until monday or tuesday so what does that leave me with.... welp time to GAME.  Probably going to be an all weekend thing.  I could turn a pen blank or two but I'm not quite ready for that as of yet.

Got the security bars cut down to size.  Had to cut 1/2 off top and 3/8 on each side to make fit.

New 12 inch shop fan came today.  Swapping this out with this bulky one that doesn't put near as much air out as the new.  Work in progress.  Managed to get the base mounting plate cut and support brace done.  A test fit shows all  good.  Tomorrow take apart do some routing of the edges and start painting it.

I had planned to mow but mother nature decided against that.  We have had rain bands from the tropical storm bring almost 3" of rain today.  Yesterday, I got the front yard mowed, edged and trimmed just a few minutes before the rain started.  Got about 1.5" of rain yesterday.  It is supposed to rain all weekend, so it will be domestication duties.  Then Monday morning, I'm going to the ENT to prove that I can hear just fine.  Please stay well, everyone.

Got started on some tool boxes as a gift for the 16 year old grandsons.  Roughly based on Frank Klausz's design, any maybe a few ideas from Chris Schwarz.  Finished up yesterday working out a design layout for the inside.  Wife thinks it's a good idea because it will give us some years of gift ideas as we fill it.

Working on a aluminum brake. Trying to keep it simple. It worked for my project. BUT at the 52 inch mark the angle steel flexes back 1/8 inch. Defeated that by putting in a extra block. For the project it worked. But for 6 ft long it would be a problem. Have to reinforce that bar.

No shop today, unless things improve. I'm unable to wander too far from the bathroom.

Originally, I was going to continue working on this 36” x 72” hickory island.  My mind was changed to freezing 12 dozen ears of corn.

Got started yesterday on carving a hollowform which has been on the shelf maybe 2 years. Going better than I thought it would. Was cool enough to get out and trim the front hedge this AM and been sitting like a vegetable since. Oh left off had to go P/U wifes med which she says she does not need right now; Yeah I am not gonna believe that.

No to get up and back to the shop. Pictures at 11.

Trying to stay dry. With a tropical storm moving ashore south of us, that's no small feat.

I did a little work on my project to build a car-top carrier so that I can transport 4x8 sheets atop my shorty minivan. The new bandsaw blades which just arrived in the mail could be a big help with that.
