This piece of leather came in a box of tools I acquired a couple years ago, I thought it was just a piece of leather the man who owned it before was practicing on. 

 

I was two seconds from throwing it away when I saw a piece of metal sticking out of one end. 

This is what's been in it this whole time!

Pretty crappy picture I see now, it was uploaded from mobile phone, but the Starett quality is really evident in this ruler, it's probably more than 5 decades old, and pretty cool looking.

That picture is a few years old.  I took a picture I had of me and Denise sitting on our couch we had at the time, and cropped her out.  My face is a little fuzzy now, but that probably won't stay for long, only as long as I can stand it.  That's why I went with the older pic instead of a new one.  Thank you John, no one else has ever called my face outstanding before.
