Mechanics aren't the best gift wrappers

but they make wonderful friends! This forum is stuffed with really great folks...that has been demonstrated through the years (IMHO), whether it was Dan making pen sets for our get together, or the gifts, or any number of nice gestures on the part of the members...not the least of which is the wounded warriors stuff. Anyway, a few weeks back I had posted lamenting the death of another American company, HTC mobile bases. They had apparently been acquired by another outfit, and the production was moved to Asia. HTC makes top notch mobile bases and i wanted one for a tool I had ordered. Anyway, Gunny steps in and mentions he had a Delta base that might work for me.  Having had several Delta bases over the years I really like them as well, but they went overseas as well some years back. To shorten the story, Gunny dug the base out and also found an HTC base (both USA, BTW) that he wasn't using....bingo! Just what I needed. I actually wanted both, the second would also have a purpose. We PM'd back and forth as I was trying to find out how much he wanted for them and could he estimate the shipping costs.  He asked for my address, then told me the cost would be NADA! He wouldn't even let me pay for shipping. One of his buddy's got great rates so he "had it covered". WOW! They arrived yesterday, and while I won't laugh at his packaging (you'all can do that ) I did notice they were in a radiator box, plenty sturdy. Anyway, I can't thank Gunny enough...I now have 2 USA mobile bases for use. Best part is it turns out the HTC base is the perfect size for my tool (a combo belt/disc sander) once it gets the tools pads relocated to the inside (they are outside the frame). Also thanks to his buddy who shipped them, it may have been embarrassing to give the box to UPS ...but they got here safely! So here's to Gunny: drink-toast-smiley-emoticon.gif

:ChinScratch:...I think Gunny did a great job packaging those.

I'd rather have to fight my way through the packaging than to receive it with parts missing due to not being packaged heavily enough.

Yo, I just noticed a name change!

Yeah someone mentioned about woodbutcherbynight being a bit long to type.  Most here know me by Gunny so I changed it. Easier for everyone.:D

I like that pay it forward approach and have been on both ends of such deals.  Way to go Gunny.
