This looks promising for filling cracks with some different colors.

The folks from StarBond have been publishing some videos on various fillers used with their products. Mostly the use saw dust. I've seen where some turners have used coffee grounds for a dark filler.

I have done the coffee ground trick before. Worked pretty good.

I'll bet copper dust and CA would make awesome inlays.

I played with some epoxy and filings from the brake lathe.  Interesting but not spectacular.

The brass filings from a key making machine, used judiciously, can appear like gold specks in epoxy. We use the brake lathe dust for iron supplement for grass and other plants. Really greens them up.

I found out that a five gallon bucket full is more than this old man can lug! :OldManSmiley:

Epoxy glue works great for making boxes. Saves all that waiting for glue to dry, and virtually no squeeze out marring the surface. I do recommend wearing tight fitting plastic gloves when working with it. You can peel it off the gloves, not so much from your fingers.:)

I have used key fillings, coffee and sawdust. The sawdust works well if you select the right color to fit the spot. Epoxy is better for large defects. Lately I have discovered Starbond med-thick Black and it is now my choice for small defects.Look at the line upper left.IMG_6412.JPG.7d4527b908c06b7d680368dbe55cecaa.JPG

That's beautiful Gerald.

Now, as to the original post... do these people sit around drinking beer and say lets get some super glue and mix it up with... cinnamon?:WonderScratch:  Interesting reaction!

Ok finally had time to watch the whole video. Kinds like the idea of the aluminum powder. Do you think they have a bit of lung irritation?:cowboy:

Does seem like an outdoor activity.

Another use for masks.

Walnut and red wood dust also works great....
