April 1, 20206 yr Popular Post While we are waiting for the glass to arrive which will complete the liquor cabinet I started the next project which is a cabinet for the wine fridge. It is a fairly straight forward cover and I will be using African mahogany with some brass inlay on the legs. The brass is 1/4” square brass stock set into a 1/4” routered groove. Paul

April 6, 20206 yr Author Popular Post I wrapped up the wine cooler cabinet today and got the first coat of finish on. It will take four or five coats. Sorry I didn’t see your request for a link to the liquor cabinet. It’s under Turning a Tulip. Paul
April 6, 20206 yr Author Popular Post Brass is an easy way to dress things up. You can buy it in any dimension you want and it sands and cuts easily. On those legs I left the brass just slightly above the level of the legs and then belt sanded them flush. You can incorporate them into turnings as well. Standard HSS turning chisels will cut through it just fine. I was asked to make a large vase/turning as a wedding gift and it was a traditional Indian wedding so I wanted it to be colorful and also incorporate brass. What I used was brass 3/8” pipe inserted into the segments and the center of the pipe was filled with a wood spike which was pounded in with epoxy to hold it and then turned in the usual manner. The brass pipe was from Home Depot. Paul
April 21, 20206 yr Sweet! I am guessing that you did the mirror frame above it also? How about the other furniture and cabinetry in the room? Edited April 21, 20206 yr by Cal
