Good Monday Morning!

Good Monday morning Patriot Woodworkers! What do you accomplish over the weekend?

I'm filling in for the boss this morning.  In this wacky , unpredictable world we all need a sanctuary like a shop to distract us, at least for a while.  What have you built?  I am a little curious about one thing.  We are being advised to stay home and isolate ourselves from the public especially if you're over 60.  Are you isolating?  If so, how are you keeping busy?  Please share your secrets.

Isolation Pictures

Last week, my daughter called and asked if I'd conduct "shop" class for my three granddaughters.  I really think mom needed a break.  The girls are 19 (college freshman), 17 (high school junior) and 13 (8th grade) wanted to build either a bird house or a bird feeder.  Here is a picture of the school session.  Notice that there are no air tools, all fingers are in tact and I could keep safety glasses on at least two of them.  Valerie got a letter grade cut.

Post your isolation picture below folks!

I got one side of a piece of 4x8 pegboard primed. Yeah, it's a pain being hunkered down!

Should have added: obviously, Ron, your granddaughters didn't get their good looks from you :throbbinghead:.

Monday...another day of sorting an packing out the shop. Finding stuff to sell or discard. That process is emotionally challenging. Running low on Kleenex.

The stories about withdrawal from social activities permeate the chat boards.  All seeking advice on what to do at home.

Me, I have 5 lifetimes of stuff to get done, but still have to work? Go figure!  As for the isolation, my wife and I are both antisocial type people.  Just another quiet day for us.:D

Working on shop sink cabinet. Progress is slow but moving forward.  I know painting the inside is overkill.  But it is oil based and my thinking is better protected from potential water exposure.:D

Waiting for Post Office to call me back about a package they say was delivered but wasn't delivered here. :BangingHead:

Tracking number says it made it from Utah to S.E. Wisconsin only to not make it the last 3 miles.

After that I plan to do the income taxes, but that depends upon how the above goes.

:ChinScratch:...Was supposed to get called back in about a half hour @ 8:00AM, but nothing yet...:Tapping:

Since my SIL was a postal worker, I don't think they'd like my next step of filing the complaint with the Postmaster General. 56567ea584735_IDontKnow.gif.3cfca1eb302acab6008082f8235203b6.gif

That’s pretty much a no Brainer, Fred.

My boss is going nuts over this happening here in Georgia. Already have one guy that took the week off. Helps payroll and at 65 he didn't want to work full time anyway.

I've been self sheltering for a few weeks now.  At 66 with some lung problems I can't take a chance.  I had to go to the grocery store Thursday and picked up some Pierogi at the Greek Deli.  That has been the extent of my outside contact.  I do take a ride now and then just to see what is going on for stores and such.  Ohio is under shelter in place starting tonight at midnight.

Here in MA the governor has ordered all businesses to close except for essential businesses. My neighbor and I had a chat with a distance of about 15 ft between us . He is a cop and is now working a one day 24 hour shift per week.

Ron, that picture is one for The Patriot Woodworker history books, I love it! It really doesn't get any better than that, way to go grandpa. :)

Received no call back from Post Office. :Tapping:

Guess it's time to file complaint with the Investigator for the Office of the Postmaster General.

I don't think they'll want to try blowing them off!565653ef73546_IDontKnow.gif.01caecda7e615c644de7a112928e6d71.gif

I have not had to change much myself, I normally stick to my projects at home and have plenty to do to keep busy.  The wife, though, has been home - this is week two.  Sort of an adjustment being made, might be a preview of what life will be like when she retires?  Got to pace myself - having a home cooked meal every night instead of leftovers might lead to weight gain:ROFL:

Spent my Saturday getting salvage drawer units and lots of other goodies at a closed Walgreen. Had to go back Monday to get drawer slide parts and picked up some more stuff. Today I started installing the drawer units and got two sets installed and almost got two upper drawers installed when I notice the drawers are different sized from the others I already installed.IMG_4019.JPG.afc60755bf118ecc215d7eac4fde8ddb.JPGIMG_4024.JPG.77d5098f185b56031ac86d3a4e873aad.JPG
