February 29, 20206 yr Popular Post Nice. My Dad used to work for the phone company and had one as standard issue. After he passed, I couldn't find it, and thought it had been lost. Bought a replica from Garrett Wade. Used it twice, and it pulled apart on the 2nd use. Garrett Wade replaced it no questions asked, so I put the replacement into a drawer for occasional use. Fast forward a couple years, and my sister is moving out of her house and she asks me to help her get some stuff out of her basement. Lo and behold, there hanging on the wall is Dad's NE telephone issued Yankee drill! She tells me she thinks she's going to offer it to her son-in-law. (I don't think so!!!!) I grabbed it off the wall and told her to consider it as payment for my helping her get her stuff out of her basement! There both in a drawer for occasional use, but man, was I happy to find Dad's.
February 29, 20206 yr Author Mine is a bit too full... Have drills and... Screwdrivers....and this isn't all of the screwdrivers, either....have since added another five or six....Fluted handle was made for Sears Craftsman by Millers Falls ( their # 620A), Black handle has no return spring...but makes a nice nut driver...just add the socket size needed.
March 2, 20206 yr Author Well..they also MADE those Yankees without any springs....look at the end of the handle...see the bolt? No bolt means no spring....And, more work to use...as YOU become the return spring.....
