Found this at an estate sale. It was being run by a company consisting of all women. They had it priced at $8.50. I jumped on it!!! The rod seen in front closes the opening if you don't like an open throat. Not shown is the edge guide. 

Also picked up a Bailey #5. For $4.50. No masks involved.

You did good.  Some time back I had a similar score buying a Stanley 71-1/2 router plane.   Danl 

Gene the box it came in originally makes it worth more to collectors so you might aught to put the 71 away somewhere and wrap that box up so it don't get any scratches.

Naw, no "sweet talking" necessary. The lady that took my money asked me what the 71 was for. I said that it was just an old wood plane. She said that she hoped I was good with puzzles because it's all in pieces. 

Today is flea market day in town. Might wander in and see if my luck is holding.
