Q-Tip holder

For 25 years the Q-Tip holder in the bathroom made of metal and a plastic cup has held up well.  But rust finally got the better of the base and top.  No where I could see it but from the inside out.  Time for an upgrade.  I saved the plastic cup and pulled out some oak scrap for the top and bottom.  We have several other fixtures that I have made for the bathroom using oak and some stain so this just matches them.  The chrome knob from the old one was still good so I reused it rather than turn a new one.

No a lot of time on task, but did take a few days to wait for finish to cure.

Nice, Gunny. Really nice.

Very nice.  Definitely a big step above the original.

You just keep giving me ideas. I am thinking wine bottle cut off and I have plenty of brass knobs. Hey that would make a great gift. Sometime I will have to take pics of my wood stash to show I have plenty for that part too.
