January 4, 20206 yr You hit the nail hard with $$$ making aspect. I only do work for a couple of people on a rare occasion. And then only because what I quote they pay. No haggling. Myself I would much rather be making stuff for wife and I. Edited January 4, 20206 yr by Woodbutcherbynight
January 5, 20206 yr I will mention an area that struck me as feasible for Makers, specifically ceramics: specialty items that command a price tag of $100-plus. They do exist, but you don't find them at craft fairs, nor even in craft stores. You have to broadcast your message rather widely, which these days means Internet. I see something (Etsey?) that seems to adopt this idea. My sister has done this kind of things for dolls (and other things that are foreign to me!). It apparently works for her because this allows her to find the (literal) one-in-a-million that will appreciate a unique idea. That's a challenge, but if you have an appealing* unique* idea, you can sell it. *and those two words are critical
