October 29, 20196 yr Popular Post This a Steve Good pattern. It started life as an 8 1/2 x 11 pattern, I blew it up with "big print" 7' long. Cut with my Boshe jigsaw and Boshe scrolling blades. This will be part of the decorations for a local charity fundraiser.
October 30, 20196 yr Very cool project. What thickness is it? What will become of it after the holidays? Is there any bracing on the back side to keep it from deforming? I could see a smaller version of this being a cool tree ornament also. Edited October 30, 20196 yr by Cal

It will become part of the rotating decorations. At the tires made slot together bracing, the back of the bracing is as tall as the pattern and the pieces of the truck as screwed to the braces. The brace on the back tire is the support for the tree on top. There is a brace at the top of the door that doubles as the support for the treetop.

What interests me with scoll patterns like this is how they decide those interior cuts that provide definition to the piece. I could easily cut out the shape of the truck. I could even see to cut out the window. Maybe a few of the line cuts to define the door and bed. But the rest escapes me. Thicker cut outs at the wheels and tires, the thicker cut outs at the fenders and hood. That, I wish I understood. That separates the artists like Steve Good and you, from mere woodworkers like myself.
