Well I missed last Friday and have just gotten home from working then picking my wife up at her work and eating supper so I’m just now getting my Friday post done. Thanks for your patience with me.

Wednesday I was invited to look at and see if I was interested in purchasing some lumber and turning blanks. A gentleman that used to stop by my booth at First Friday passed away two years ago. His wife is just starting to sell off his lumber and blanks. One of his favorite things was to turn rough bowls and then sell them so people could finish them after they had dried and stabilized. Wow there was a room full of bowls just waiting to be chucked and finished turning. I was like a kid turned loose in a candy store. Now I just got to narrow down my choices and see what I can acquire. I was so thankful to be asked to go through his work, lumber, blanks and a few tools. I’ll let you all know soon what I decide to purchase.

Here are a couple of samples of what was there.

I can hardly wait to get back over there.

Today has been a long needed rain soaking here and more to come over night. Like a lot of places, we have been in a drought situation for a couple of months. Thanks for the rain.

We are in cutting board mode at the time. Getting ready for one of our large shows and the last of the year. This is a three day show and they moved it up a couple of weeks earlier so we are going wide open making cutting boards and other items for inventory.

We finished this batch on Wednesday.

Yesterday I got a batch in the first glue up and today my son got them cut into strips.

Before he had to pickup kids at school he was able to get a couple also glued in the final End Grain set.

Last night I got most of these sanded and ready for engraving our logo on them. A few of them had some spots that we epoxied.

Also got eight 6x6” Cheese Boards ready for engraving.

And lastly before I came in last night I got 2 large size boards oiled and they will be ready to go in the storage box.

Tomorrow will be finishing gluing and cutting and engraving and oiling boards. Whew I’m already tired.

Sunday afternoon will be celebrating one of my granddaughters 14th birthday. Hard to believe she is 14. Been busy this school year, she made cheerleader for 8th grade.

What’s on your weekend agenda? As always we really love seeing and hearing about all the projects you are working on. Share your weekend agenda with the rest of us.

Some nice looking cutting boards.  And that stash of goodies WOW!

Put first coat of paint on one cat box tonight and stained the sawhorse legs for it.  Going to take some time to finish.

Relatives leave tomorrow. Just been trying to finish up a few little things when I could sneak into the shop. Not sure when the new lathe will get here

With rain being predicted for all day today, I may get my desk assembled and the keyboard ray installed. Such a simple project and it's taking me forever to get it done.

I’m building a pair of rolling islands so the morning will be devoted to those.  Afternoon.....election board duties with Norte Dame vs. Michigan at night.

Spent friday running errands and grocery shopping. Phyl was down with a bug. She's better this morning. Shes headed to Laughlin Nevada tomorrow with 4 friends. She doesn't gamble, though.

Today's shop activities are yet TBD. Probably play with the laser.

Friday was errands and a road trip....found a place that will sharpen handsaws!   Dropped off the Disston D-8, 11ppi saw.....fellow said it is a "finish" saw.    Had set on one side...needs set for the other, and a little sharpening....$10 and it will be good as new.    He may be getting a few more of my saws....right now, it is Chainsaw Season.....be about a week before he can get to my saw..

DVD  Cabinet is out of the clamps....and didn't fly apart.    Will try to get it cleaned up, and the rest of the parts done...

We have the 1642 at the club and it is a very good lathe. Steady like a rock.

Friday night went to the high school football game to watch the grand daughter march at half time. It's her senior year. Today went to watch the grandsons 5th and 6th grade football staying in the car while it rained the whole game. This evening I took some shelves out of the clamps that I glued up and glued up some more shelves for the entertainment center that I built. Start sanding them tomorrow.

Widow next door gave me some brackets to redo for her floating shelves.  She didn't know to dado the cripples to the ledger board.  When I gave one a bit of twist and it popped off, she was a bit upset.  I told her it would fall and she said, "Thanks.  It's going above my bed headboard."  Well, that could have been disastrous.  Will try to remember to take and post pictures.  No rain tomorrow, so it's going to be a great cool day for this.
