October 21, 20196 yr Popular Post Just got back from Tucson. Great visit. Tomorrow, the mesquite will be un loaded and rearranged for the trip to IL in a couple weeks. Probably very little shop time till we get back.
October 21, 20196 yr As in another post I've been varnishing a cabinet I built. Got the varnishing all done today. Plan on putting on Johnson paste wax tomorrow. Does anyone else use paste wax on your project after you varnish?
October 21, 20196 yr Popular Post I’m putting the finishing touches on 15 trivets for a holiday show on November 9th. I’m waiting on plywood on red oak to be delivered on Thursday for a pair of rolling 4’ islands that will go to a local customer. Last week I was at our local county court house for an election board meeting and I spied an oak roll top desk that the county commissioners placed for sale. It’s in really good shape and I found out today that I had the winning bid. I’d estimate the desk at 75 to 100 years old. The secondary wood in the drawers is oak and all dovetail joinery. Looks like I have a winter project.

October 21, 20196 yr Popular Post Same here. I apply it with Liberon 0000 wool. Then polish with a cotton cloth.
October 22, 20196 yr Popular Post Busy sanding the leg assemblies for my sawhorse / cat house build. Interior is all finished, 3 coats of Helmsman Clear coat. Even stained the floors and told my wife the cats are high class they have hardwood floors! It's a work in progress.
