September 26, 20196 yr Popular Post Hello all, I am Larry I grew up the son of a licenced Florida contractor. Because of this I have worked with power tool most of my childhood. I realized early on that I really like building things but didn't want to do it for a living, not that there was anything wrong with it. I joined the military and spent the next 20 years serving/protecting this great country of ours and along the way continued to piddle in the woodworking hobby. This allowed me to continue expanding my skills as a woodworker and also gave my father and I something that we could sit down and have a conversation over. I have just recently moved back to Florida and have started slowly putting my garage shop together. I still have along way to go before I can really say its a shop and not just a garage with tools in it. Here is a list of the bigger tools that I have and will make up my shop. Delta 10" 36-725 Contractors table saw w/Router table extension Delta 14" 28-216 Bandsaw Excalibur 40-200 Deluxe Router Table (currently refurbishing) Performax 16-32 Drum sander Ridgid 13" thickness planer HF 12" compound sliding miter saw
September 26, 20196 yr Popular Post Welcome, Larry. And a huge thank you for your years of service. Looks like you've got a great start up on a nicely equipped shop. I do have a couple suggestions though. #1 park your vehicles outside and, #2 buy, beg or appropriate more clamps. Two things every woodworker needs...more space and more clamps. Thirdly, I agree you can never have to many clamps and I am always looking for more.

Well I am sure others will comment but I have had my shop for 26 years and it is still a work in progress. Feel free to take pictures, we like those. This is a well rounded lot, you will be surprised by the depth of skill and creative ideas these guys bring to the table. Start a blog or a post about your shop. Good way to get started. Myself I spend as much time tinkering IN the shop for stuff IN the shop as I do making stuff for the house. On a rare occasion I will do some small side job but hey, I have my own stuff to do.

Thanks, I will post some pictures once I get some things cleaned up. We just made a moved from the west coast to the east coast. So my garage which will be my shop is also a storage unit. Trying to get some things organized so I can at least get my tools set up and start the list of projects my wife has. I will however get some pictures of some of the things I nave created posted this weekend.

I’m still in the question asker side of the equation (unless it’s electrical, I’m an electrician, I can answer those). Lots of knowledge and support here. Hope to see become a regular here. Artie
