Popular Post Bundoman
WAY WAY overdue to stop by the forum. Been working on a car project with my 18 y.o. son, and 4H woodworking fair projects with the girls so not finding so much time to hunt the rusty stuff. I have continued to darken the door at the local shops though and found this stuff tonight. Can anyone tell me more about the center finder/square in the pictures. I see no markings but from the little I found online, it may be a Standard Rule or Chaplin’s. Unfortunately, no rule with this one. Maybe I can locate one with luck or some help from my friends. Nice to be on here tonight. Plenty to catch up on. Edited August 20, 2019 by Bundoman FlGatorwood, Cal, DuckSoup and 5 others
Gunny
Not my area of specialty, other than how to clean rust up. Now the guy to ask is @steven newman. He can give you tips on how to make these look like the Prom Queen!! Artie, Cal, FlGatorwood and 1 other 3

steven newman
As for the two molding planes...clean the metal....do NOT remove the screws holding that skate...you'll never get them back in... The wood parts...Murphy's Oil Soap to clean the wood up...then some Smelly BLO until the wood can hold anymore....then buff it out. Bevels on the cutters are at 25 degrees, usually...flatten the backs of the cutters. Gene Howe and Gunny

I always heard it is dangerous to work with the toe, and that the heel is safer ... oh, wait ... that was for the turning forum. Wrong forum. Sorry about that.
