Stack cut a total of 8 each, 1/2" birch ply (2 at a time) & 1/4" (4 at a time).  They need cleaned up a bit & then we'll add a splash of color, then a coat of spray poly later.

Yeah we only have 3 lifetimes of projects planned, never mind the ones that pop up expectantly.

Nah, we are Ukrainian Orthodox, we have 147 days till Jan 7th.  

Bob those are great. Good early start is the way to go...What you got planned for color. If you don't have any color yet, look at those roosters I made here while back. I bought twenty different colors at Michaels, same as Hobby Lobby probably and have 20 dollars invested. Small bottles of water thinned stuff and a few drops goes a long way. I can't tell what size you have there but on those 12 days of Christmas I did for Danl a couple years ago I submerged them in the stain making it very fast. I think I used one of wifes cake making pans. They are metallic and to me look better than water colors I use a lot, kids water coloring sets.

 I have an extra plans of the 12 days of Christmas is you are interested I'll send you a set.

 Jess these are all about 12" tall. There is color in the works, maybe the nose, ribbon, the candy cane in the stocking, just highlights & leave the rest unpainted and a poly coat.

Amazing what a scroll saw and some human fingers guiding the wood can make....Looks good. Reminds me when I use to gently take a big cake baking bowl from the kitchen and pour in my stains for the coloring process. I would then pour up the unused stains for the next time...

 Will do Gene, right now I'm just in the cutting mode. The painter is donning her bakers cap & starting to get ready for a wedding in 4 weeks. Its not a wedding without a cookie table.

 Jess I do the same, except the pan doesn't come from the kitchen. When I have multiple pieces I hang them with wire from a board attached to the ceiling. I have a piece of roof gutter I set under them at a slope that leads to the pan.

 Stack cut 4 @ a time, they measure about 3" - 5" for Santa. Cut all the inside first then I cut access points with the bandsaw to get me closer to the pattern on the out side.

  9 patterns & ended up with 100 pieces. Perfect for gift tags.

Stack cut these on the scroll saw in pairs from 3/4 pine, enough for eight. Dilled holes for the pipe and use 1/4" dowel with a piece of wire for the stem, same with the banner.

Holes in the top of the dolls head lets us insert yarn for that blonde look. 3/8" dowels hold the legs & arms & 1/4" dowel for the walking stick. Skis are secured with glue & brads.

Pattern came from Wood & I made the painted one over 20 years ago.

 For painted items I take a ball point pen and trace the pattern before I remove it, this leaves a slight depression in the wood which makes it easier to add the colors.

Once painted the lines can't be seen.

   Ok, I've gave my scroll saw a rest and moved on to some items that needed painting. After painting is complete some assembly will be required.

 Glued all the parts together on these guys. To save time I made a couple of jigs from scraps for the glue up.
