This guy's philosophies and wealth of information, combined with his gentle, non judgmental delivery is a pleasurable experience.

The link below is just one of his videos. His others are full of great info about the tools and materials we use. Well worth the time.

Gene, probably this is one of the neatest videos I have ever seen, what a neat guy! And wise!

I loved every bit of it, the content of course, the quality, his voice is a pleasure to listen too, and you are right, he just seems like the type of human you could talk to with anything, non-judgemental all the way.

I liked his Robert Frost poem, kind of reminded me of the quote I shared here awhile back that goes something like this, "What I build may be for others, but how I build it is for me". I think there is a lot of that in his philosophy.

During a time in our nation, where hard work is bemoaned as only a task for the under-educated, and during a time that our youth are not being shown the virtues of hard work, this video is a welcome view, thanks for sharing Gene.

I bet him and Mike Rowe would get along great.

Glad you enjoyed it, John. I've only watched a few others but, they are just as good and, a bit more materials and tools oriented.

I have always been a DIYer, and combined with my professional work as an engineer, I learned that working hard and smart is best. The level of effort is determined by the goals.

I have been nickel plating birth year pennies for friends and family and install a slip ring.  I showed the neighbor and he was astounded by the plating and then asked how I got the holes in the pennies for the  split rings so they could be used a charm or hung on a key ring.  He has never drilled a hole in anything in his lifetime of 69 years.  Now I am astounded.
