April 29, 20197 yr Popular Post I have one more cabinet base to build this week and I’m building show stock. My granddaughter works for a place that makes and sells bath bombs and like items. They are having a special spring one day sale on May 11th and have asked a few local artisans to set up. This store has a female cult following that up you wouldn’t believe so it might be a pretty good day. By the way, no booth rent, just show up with tent and goods. What’s not to like?
April 29, 20197 yr Popular Post Been building a two drawer cabinet for more storage under one of the lathes but not getting a lot of shop time. Been spending time at the hospital with a friend of mine. She is doing better. Took some jigsaw puzzles over and we've been putting one together. Yard work needs done too. The rain doesn't make that easy either.
April 29, 20197 yr Popular Post Spent the last few fun filled days on Mt. Lemmon, near Tucson, with the family. They liked their family tree plaques and the Anniversary couple liked their wine box. Today is shop cleanup day and prep for a mesquite whiskey presentation box. Might even use the Kerfmaker, now that Pat prompted me to find it.
April 29, 20197 yr Popular Post picked up a truckload of lamp parts from a place going out of business. got home and started to unload - started raining... unloading can wait. can't get wetted on.
April 29, 20197 yr Popular Post Just got back from Branson,MO and had to work today so I would not have to on the 1st. You know what the first is "hell bent for leather"? Hope to get some work done in the shop tomorrow and then later this week get back to those pecan logs.

April 30, 20197 yr Popular Post Punch list on the new porch deck is about done....have a couple other Honey-dos to do, before the shop time can begin, again...
April 30, 20197 yr Popular Post Just came back from a week and a half in New Zealand visiting the family (out-laws as well as mine). Was great to see them and say hi, but meant a lot of running around so wasn't entirely restful. The two days spent at Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve however were very restful. Would have stayed there longer if we could have managed it. Hoping to get my motivation back up to get down to the garage and start making again. Thought I might start looking in my scrap pile and make some tool totes and stuff to use some up and maybe flick off for some pocket money.

I just got back from a long weekend in Savannah. The wifey was working a conference trade show so I drove the Plymouth down to meet up with her. Got to visit and say hi to a bunch of friends and acquaintances. Got to eat some good food. Went to a play one night, and a car cruise in on Saturday evening. Several boat rides across the harbor and a lot of walking around the historic district. A very enjoyable time. Today, it is back under the house to continue this flooring project that I opened up If things go well I should be putting down new subfloor this weekend. Then begins the interior work on the kitchen walls that were tore out when we replaced the rim joist. On a much lighter note, yesterday there was a Rose-breasted Grossbeak at the feeder. Just passing through, it may not be here today. This is only the second time (in 30 years) that I have seen one here. I had to grab my camera and take a break to get these shots. And a shot of the rear of the house after we got it buttoned up last week.

Folks get their checks and historically they go shopping or in my case to get prescriptions filled. This rush usually lasts for 2 to 3 days.
April 30, 20197 yr Went and retrieved one of the "Picking" vehicles yesterday. The fuel pump died Saturday. Step 1: Chisel hole through floor. Step 2: Remove fuel pump/gauge sending unit. Step 3: Replace fuel pump. Step 4: Reinstall fuel pump/gauge sending unit. Step 5: Cover hole chiseled through floor. Step 6: Go "Picking"
