Well, was looking for a small project to use up the left over Pine...Had a 1 x 8 that seemed to be long enough...and cut up a 1 x 6 for a couple curvy legs...519045010_sinkshelf1.JPG.0a72945d712e4c43b14231db053827ef.JPG

Notched to fit over the backsplash...nothing real fancy, as it will get painted, anyway....had a second notch to cut..

To fit around the window sill.   counter-sunk screws, and a bead of glue...again, nothing fancy...maybe an hour of shoptime...

Spent as much time going back and forth from the shop to the kitchen...as the building...

waiting on the paint, now.

Looks great and perfect for the purpose.

One suggestion I'd make is to mix some glue & water (50/50) then "paint" the end grain that contacts the counter top. Once that dries, the paint if with your chosen color.

Just something to keep it from wicking water from the counter.

Caulk works well for this if you intend to paint it.  I use the glue mix when staining.

As fast and talented as Steve is, if he doesn't get around to sealing it, he can just knock out another one in no time.

Yeah ain't that the truth.  Only way I could keep up is Red Bull, Monster concoction along with some recreational usage drugs.:JawDrop:
