January 26, 20197 yr Popular Post Its hard for me to pass up a bargain. This is the set I bought last Christmas 2017 on sale for 59.00 regular 99.00. This Christmas they were on sale again for 59.00 but our Lowes in Abilene had sold out of them and could not get any more for that price. They said to check other stores. The only one that had any was Decatur which is about 100 miles for me and they said they had reduced the price even lower so we drove over there this morning and we bought all they had ... Oh yea , if you are a veteran go to the customer service desk and tell them and they will register you so every time you buy something you automatically get 10% off. So with the vets discount that made the 3000 2/25 Dremel sets for 31.86 plus tax. So after giving it about a 2 second thought I figured I would rather have lots of Dremels so I won't have to change bits so often in exchange for one of those high dollar grinders that sells for 199.00 to 299.00 for I don't think the bits really can tell what motor is turning them as they do their job of slinging saw dust..
January 26, 20197 yr That's a good deal for sure, but seven of them? As I see it Jess, you need to either have a long workbench and a chair on wheels to move from machine to machine - or take a sheet from @Woodbutcherbynight and put those Dremels on a T track so's you can stay put and bring the machine to you?

January 26, 20197 yr Author Good observations Cal and thoughts... I hang my grinders up when using so I figure I can get a bunch of grinders in a 2 foot distance on a rod over head. My only problem is when I don't have my hearing aids in I will leave one on occasionally all night long. Happened twice last year...as soon as I walk in I can hear that quiet humming sound. Now I kinda listen for that sound every time I walk in in the mornings. I have had only one dremel quit on me in the 20 years since retiring and that one was my sons I got from him in 92 when he died. I do change brushes every once in a while so I'm sure that helps.. Dan me and those dentist never crossed paths very often... The one main reason I have dentures. I wouldn't listen to my mom when I was a kid. Two horses in that picture Cal. January 26, 20197 yr So I guess you had to buy the rope to tie 'em all down for the quick trip back in case Lowe's realized their mistake? Ya' did good Patch...real good...that price is flea market/ yard sale price. 13 minutes ago, Smallpatch said: I will leave one on occasionally all night long. Plug them into a power strip, then just be sure you turn the power strip off when you quit...Most have a pilot light to indicate when they're on.
January 26, 20197 yr Author Popular Post Dave I use a very comfortable swivel chair on wheels that goes from the scroll saw to the carving station. This is the only part of the floor I keep clean in the whole shop. I cut all the pieces to be carved small so I can do all the carving while holding the pieces. But when I start using the floor machines in the shaping and smoothing process I have a big circle with about five stations I stop at so I do get lots of exercise before I ever finish a project.. Oh yes, the power strips... A school auction produced 25 power strips like in your picture plus I got 7 small roll around portable metal tables that has built in power strips and each has about 20 foot of very heavy duty power cable...this was maybe 18 years ago so a few bucks solved that need long ago.
