January 25, 20197 yr comment_175774 I have not been able to spend a lot of time in my shop since I screwed up my knee at Christmas. I did have time to go thru my rat hole of unfinished projects which got me thinking about the projects I have finished in the last few years only to pass along to someone else. I am especially talking about the ones you hated to let go but were unable to keep because of space limitations. These are some of the machines that I would gladly have back were I to have the room. When we parted it was almost as if I were sending one of my kids off to school First up the Boice Crane Monomaster 10" table saw. This magnificent beast came to me in parts. It required a lot of research and work to put back into running condition but turned out beautufully. I must admit that I almost parted with my Unisaw in favour of this one Next up my Delta Unisaw Junior, also received in boxes. my Delta 1160 10" tilt top table saw. Again pretty much received in boxes. The Delta Shop combo with saw, jointer, disk sander and drill press The Delta 6" jointer with cast iron base The Delta 1936 model 620 drill press And last but not least the Walker Turner scroll saw with cast iron base. Almost parted with my Delta 24" scrll saw this time These are the ones I had a hard time letting go. You might call it sellers remorse. Anyone willing to share their stories of the ones they wish they still had in their shop Report
January 26, 20197 yr Popular Post comment_175793 WOW Gerry...all I can say which won't console you any, you do some top quality work. Every one of those tools look better than they day they rolled off their lines. If I can only pick one favorite (which is impossible but...) it would have to be the Delta Uni-Mini. Mainly because I've never see none before. I can see why you grieved as each one left...you put your heart & soul into those restorations. If it's any comfort, had you not restored those and moved them along to happy user/owners, all probably would have ended up as scrap. You rescued them and preserved for yet other generations to enjoy and appreciate true craftsmanship. Pretty good legacy in my way of thinking. Kudos sir, for the work and sharing. Loved each piece. 4 hours ago, GerryinBelleRiver said: Anyone willing to share their stories of the ones they wish they still had in their shop I don't or haven't had anything of this caliber...mostly hand tools and small power...still hoarding 'er collecting those. I hope to pass off to my grandsons someday. I do have some regrets of tools not purchased at times. Report

February 18, 20197 yr comment_178933 You are probably a member of the Old Woodworking Machine Forum. They have a thread there for people to post their before and after photo’s (again which probably has some of your work on it ) Every once in a while I just scroll through that thread. Some of them look like they should just be on display as a work of art (no, not me!), not in a shop. I am in awe of your capabilities! Report

September 24, 20232 yr comment_321617 I'm trying to repair the fence on a Boice Crane table saw. It looks just like the one in your picture. The issue is the clamp (red handle) will not stay locked. Suggestions? Report

IDK if Gerry will respond since he hasn't logged in since July 2019. Maybe our resident old 'arn guru @Larry Buskirkcan weigh in on your question. Any pictures you can provide will be helpful. September 25, 20232 yr comment_321649 The red knob and fence are similar although I don't think this is the exact saw. The red knob locks down to hold the fence in place. In the case of our saw, the red knob will not stay locked down. Report
