We finally finished the Hickory Slab Desk and got it delivered to its new home. My son Josh did a lot of the work on this and did an outstanding job.

We completed the slab shelves some time back and then waited on a remodel and us as we got behind also.

But it looks good and they are excited to start using it.

Today I’m working on the legs for the Red Elm kitchen island.

The last shelve is glued and ready for sanding. Hopefully I’ll get all the legs done this weekend and this will be ready for finish the first of the week.

So what’s on your agenda this weekend? I love to see your projects and see what your working on. Share your plans and projects and post those pictures.

Whatever you do, have fun and be safe.

Just fixed an old portable air tank that wouldn't hold air. Bad o-rings in the valve. Luckily I had some of the right size left over from my days as a Dive Shop owner.!

Have a piece of ebony on the lathe to turn into a little finial for the hollow vessel I've been playing with.

Still need to get my daily walk done.

I really like these thicker cutting boards.

Hey John, that's excellent work. I like the live edges, too! :Praise:

Tomorrow, I'm teaching a class on how to assemble bee hives and honey frames.  I was warned to KISS, I will have to tell them that if I say rabbet, I'm not talking about the little animal with long ears that's hopping around.

After that, I'm headed to the shop to work on the theater set.  Eldest granddaughter has a lead role in "Frog and Toad"

Then to usher at Mozart's Requiem concert.

Well done on the desk...less 20 days from paper to finish and you experienced a number of personal adversities too.

Agree, the Gristmill looks perfectly at home on this desk.

Transport duties, a few errands Saturday then at least 1/2 of the HS Varsity Basketball game. Oldest grand-daughter is one of four Homecoming Queen candidates...reveal & coronation at half-time.

Church Sunday.

2"-4" total snowfall predicted by this time Sunday evening coming in waves. Too cold to work in the "shop." Tongue sticks to all the tools.

Beautiful work John by Team Moody. Obvious why they are excited about having the desk & shelving in place to begin using (and I suspect showing off too!).

I'll say, and then some!

My week got turned around.  I was fixing to head out the door Monday AM to spend the week in Atlanta with the wife who was going up for business.  About that time the landscape/grading company showed up to do the back yard.  Since I had been waiting since October (I think), I wasn't about to chase them off.  So I stayed home.  A lot of dirt moved out and around Monday & Tuesday.  A big rain came in Wednesday evening, seven pallets of sod delivered Thursday and was laid down Friday.

Coming up for the weekend, pretty cold in the morning - likely stay in and do some vinyl work.  A couple projects to get done before I start this years home remodel.

Pics of the back yard later.

I am thinking more like FLOOD, not the Flood of Noah, but we tried.  Was so bad I saw the neighbor cats in a Chevy rowing it to higher ground.:JawDrop:
