Finding him (her) may require a genealogy search. we both lack the ability to see this table first hand. just these 2 pics to work off of. it's dusty, and likely very dry wood. those are easy to fix. but when you get into taking things apart, you don't know what you are getting yourself into. best case, you clean a few joints, re-glue them, and all is well. worst case, it comes apart and you have a pile of interesting looking parts. i'd clean it up. if it's in sound condition (tight joints, no missing structural pieces), us it in some manner. if not, find some information on what it would take to fix it up. time, money. you may find that you are now spending $500 on a $40 table. that's not wise. we should be good stewards of what we have, time and resources (that's why we all have overly large scrap piles - it might be useful someday), and not do foolish things (like build a feed trough for a horse out of ebony or fiddleback maple). it's a neat piece, enjoy it.
December 4, 20187 yr Popular Post @Nicoleb, I live in NE Ohio, city of Campbell about 3 miles from the Pa. line. Not sure where your at, and not asking you to tell, but if you google my location and find that we are fairly close I would be willing to look at the table and see what it would take to get it back into working order. If we are too far apart maybe another member closer might be able to help. Just an offer to help.
December 6, 20187 yr Popular Post Welcome to Patriot woodworker Nicoleb. You have found a great site to find out about woodworking. There are many folks on here that are one of a kind. They can answer your questions about wood working or many other things. I like your game table. You found a good one. Maybe I'm due for some good luck. Work on it when you get a chance and take a few pictures to keep us updated. Don't talk to my wife, she thinks I'm outdated. I'll try and keep her around another 57 years. I find old tables at garage sales or where ever. I found a corner table in the junk pile at one garage sale. It was beat beyond belief. There was cig burns all over and white stuff in the drawer. I brought it back to life and it in use in our home. I don't know how old it is but I think it is fairly new. It took a lot of sanding and it had a lot of indents. It sat in my shop for a year and when I was up to it I would work on it. It is worth a lot but only to me. I have fixed up several old tables and have a couple in ,y house yet and have given a few to my kids. I need to take before and after pictures, some of them are hard to believe. Kep us posted on the table> Preston
