Been more or less stuck with Olson blades....80" fit the 12" Craftsman saw I have ( and just replaced the light bulb in)  Olson only goes up to 1/2" width....Menard's doesn't sell 80" ones....Home Depot never heard of a bandsaw.....which leaves...Lowes.    right at $10 a blade.

They may not make that size in carbide.

Try Lennox:

Seems like they don't sell carbide tipped either, this is a carbon steel one.

Didnl't JohnM say they will make any length?

Herb

Probably right, Herb. Carbide would probably crack at my radius. I've had decent luck with carbon steel Lennox blades. The local Mesquite isn't easy on any steel blade, though. Lots of silica.

If it is just the tip of the tooth that is carbide, why would the radius come into play here?

The flex of the blade on the wheel may cause the carbide to break off if the radius is too small is my theory

That's what I was told, Gerald.
