Friday, October 5, 2018. What’s on Your Weekend Agenda

I’m pinching hitting again today.  John Moody had his eyes dilated and can’t see to type.  My nephew helped me side my house and now we’re building his wife a farm house table.  This beast is 84” long and 40” wide and weights a ton.  The top is 6/4 popular and they are going to put some kind of gel stain on it.  We also have to build a matching bench.

That’s my weekend project.  What’s on your Patriot Woodworker Agenda?60E3C647-258F-4445-BFFC-BE0F9629B596.jpeg

I resurrected my old workbench. A few years back I had decided to build a new top for it...one thing led to another and I wound up building new everything except the legs, but I kept all the old stuff. Now I find I wanted a bench in the basement so I built new legs and put the old bench back together. Got it moved down there today, it will be for tinkering in the house when I can't get to the shop.

I don't know what the heck I am going to do with myself this weekend Ron, first time I've had a whole weekend with nothing planned for me by my family, I can't think of the last time this happened!

  • Kids sporting events (none)
  • Keep mama happy duties (none)
  • Automotive issues (none, errr, none I can fix at this time  got a Ford Expedition with the steering froze sitting in our dw.)
  • Grass cutting (none, son does that)
  • Birthday parties (none)
  • Escort daughter to horse riding lessons (none, teacher is taking a break)
  • Put some hours in for my day job prepping for a bridge project I am surveying (not this weekend, I said screw it! Been giving the man my free time for the last few weekends calc'ing for this survey, and I am done burned out!)

So what's left? Aww the good things, take my boy out shooting, throw the football with him, help daughter with her homework, maybe, (she is smarter than me after all), sit and listen to my older daughter practice her violin, she comes home on the weekends from college, and finally, perhaps, get my butt in the shop, and get things more squared away. But, all those things are fun, and loving. So I guess I do have a weekend after all. :)

Cheers everyone, and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well, thanks for stepping up Ron, hope John get's his peekers back in order soon, he's needed at the range!

Off/on rain & t-storms are in the forecast for the majority of the weekend so outside yard work will be sporadic if at all. Normal Saturday transportation duties plus a couple extras. Sunday, will be visiting a new to us church.

Tonight is Senior Night Recognition prior to the football game. Oldest grand-daughter has been a 4 yr Student Trainer/Manager for the football team so she will be one of the Seniors being honored. It doesn't seem possible it's time for this.:(

I need to get pictures posted of last Saturday's Time Machine Travel. Hopefully can fit in some small garage projects. Rest TBD.

just built a little wall hung shelf for under my wife's new TV in her studio.  to hold the power box, converter box, and remote off the counter that is below.  get it hung sunday or monday.

running the local IDPA match tomorrow.

can't figure out how to make the tablets work, so we'll do paper scoring.

Ya man! That was dumb of me to list that one. She is away doing errands right now, it just felt like I had a sense of safety from those Honey Do's, but that's because she aint here right now, that'll all change when she returns home shortly.

Try to figure out why the furnace doesn't want to work right. :huh::wacko::unsure::blink:

Etc.,Etc.,Etc. …..

Sold my old craftsman TS with the exact I fence and cabinet on wheels last week leaving lots of space. So thought I had a plan to move the Jet lathe into its place and then facing reality might get rid of the router table so moved the Powermatic to that space and this morning at 6 got in the sttic and moved the 220 line for the lathe. Now just have to rebuild the hanging shelves for lathe sanding and accessories.

This is where the lathe used to be with drawer unit on the wall.

and this is new location. Still some drawers , tool rack and accessory rack to complete.
