Came across this video.  It is different for sure.  Looks good on the outside but the didn't show how the run the utilities.

 

 

Looks expensive and labor intentensive 

it may be a good way to use up pieces parts.   i'm curious as to glue, preservation treatment of the wood, and the sheer number of all types of fasteners used.   doesn't look much more work intensive than brick and has to have a better R value than brick or plain stick construction.   more like "timber without the timber".

Definetly a very expensive house.  More than brick, more than lap siding.  Dan utilities are probably comming from the crawl space up thru the floor and are externally run.  I wonder if they painted it red with gray lines to simulate bricks?  As for R value they have no glue and no mastic to make this air tight.  Therefore the house breathes a lot of moisture.  The fasteners should all be SS.  The inside should have insultation and drywall walls.
