Apple is beautiful wood, that should be a really nice bowl when you finish turn it.

Fruit woods are prone to cracking.  Take care drying them.  Looking good for now.

Great looking so far.  I only turned some legs for a desk in high school...did a miserable job but would like to learn to do more things.   But, I suppose I first need to get a lathe. :)

I must have missed that too, nice shape bowl, I like apple wood. it will be nice when finished.

Would be an irony I suppose if he keeps apples in this bowl;)

Checked it today and still feels pretty wet. I have another one a little smaller drying with it. I cut a piece of log around 6 inches thick and put it on the lathe that way. I wanted to see the difference in the grain and how it would turn.

Didn't think of it until just now but I bet the chips would work good in my smoker.

Absolutely! Great for pork chops, pork loin or ribs.
