August 3, 20187 yr Popular Post We have finally made it to the dog days of summer although it seems around here they started the first of June. We have been in the 90's more days than not around here. I am so thankful that I put a new AC unit int he shop this year, that baby had been working hard. Didn't get too much done in the shop last weekend with the three granddaughters here from Saturday till Monday morning. They are loads of fun, but will wear you out in 5 minutes. But this week we are working on two projects. Yep still making corn hole games and still have some on order. My youngest son, Andrew was in the shop yesterday sanding on the boards getting them ready for the finishing room. As you can see the shop is a mess but lots of work going on in there. Three of the boards are in the finishing room, two of them getting sprayed and the other waiting on him to finish the second of the pair. I love being able to move them into the finishing room and spray while they keep cutting and sanding. Just got the second coat of Sanding Seal on these two and ready to spray the finish coats on. My other son Josh, has been cutting and gluing oak boards to make some 42" square tables for a job. He has one glued that needs to be squared up and the others in sections about ready to glue together and make the top. Then we will start on the bases which will be trestle bases. While I was waiting on finish to dry I was playing with the CNC and trying out a few setting to see how they would turn out. Sorry about this picture, the glare washed out one side. I'll try to get a better picture to share. We have First Friday's show this weekend and Saturday I'll be at the range doing Burgers and Bullets as I'm the grill master. August 3, 20187 yr I am back in the saddle - for a few days anyhow. I can see the end of my stairway project, but not sure of the day just yet. I can also see yardwork this weekend if the weather cooperates, and I may even clean up the Pontiac* and do a cruise in Saturday if everything falls into place. *Picked up the Pontiac last Sunday from our son in Charleston, SC. He is preparing to move and does not want to take it up there until he has a garage and ok from the insurance co. So, I drove it from Charleston to Jekyll Island; and from Jekyll to home.
August 3, 20187 yr I’ve succeeded in getting the shop back to normal and stowing all of the show product totes in their respective home for a bit. Yesterday, Dorothy and I went east into Ohio and drove a 15 mile section of the 127 Yard Sale. The 127 is the longest yard sale in the world and runs from Michigan to Dalton, Georgia. Our trek took 7 hours and we went just a little north of Celina, Ohio. Pandemonium, but fun. My scores for the day were a #5 Stanley Bailey plane ($10) and a 36” Johnson wood with brass rails level ($5). Today I pick up a Delta band saw and tomorrow I helproof an 8 x 22 shed

August 3, 20187 yr today: grout some of the tiles i put down yesterday in my office. that'll bring the flooring to about 60% done. little bit at a time. have to take doggie to the hated Vet to have some stitches removed. oh, she's going to love that! saturday: pistol match. sunday: maybe goof off, maybe some more tiling. haven't decided. you ask, "how about church?" all the ones around here have gone apostate long ago. see no point in listening to lies.

August 3, 20187 yr Paying the price of all that work, yesterday.......Toes cramping, hand cramping...calves are cramping.... No spare change to even do the local sales around here...have it all set back for three round trips to Columbus, OH......Lot of gas money needed...70 miles each way. IF the cramps let up....I may try to work on that little box project....we'll see...
