It seems like the dog days of summer got here early this year. Record setting heat has meant staying in the cool and I'm thankful for the AC in the shop.

This week has been a busy one and will continue into the weekend. Corn hole games have been the run here lately. I guess everyone is enjoying the outside time and playing games. This set got finished and is made from Walnut, Cherry and Maple wood, no plywood in our game boards.

Our customer wanted this out of several woods which seems at times to have become our signature.

Not at my house with that Auburn flag in the background.

So today we got pieces cut out and milled for two more sets that have been ordered.

Got this jointed, planed and cut to size and glued into panels today. This weekend we will finish these.

Also worked on a Quarter Sawn White Oak slab to make a table top for and old Singer Sewing machine bottom.

This Slab was just over 20" wide and after running it through the dual drum sander it leveled out at 1 5/8" thick.

Tomorrow we will get it sanded and moved into the finishing room for a stain and clear finish. Should be ready for delivery the first of the week.

Saturday I will be at the Shooting Range part of the day as we are having SilencerCo in for a Range day. They are bringing suppressors and machine guns to shoot and demonstrate their line of suppressors.

So thats my weekend, what's on your agenda this weekend?

As always, we here at TPW love to hear about your project and see what you are working on. Share your weekend agenda with us.

Been nice all week and so I spent my days outside.  Today is supposed to start a heat wave so I'll have to see what is going on in the shop.

Friday the 13th.

Today is my usually lucky day.  I separated the USAF on Friday, July 13th, 1973.

Pictures Pleeeeze...I've got an old base I plan to do something similar to...It needs sandblasted and painted first...

Kiddo's are gone for about a week with their dad so chauffeur service is on hold;

I have about 3 hours of work left to do on the front mount mower then start mowing. I'd planned to go to town today to pick up oil, filter, couple of belts and new battery for the mower...got all the recycling loaded into the truck...hit the key, it cranked for a couple seconds, then slowed down and pssst...battery is shot. It is Friday the 13th  for sure. Battery was an Autozone Gold---5 year battery...it's 5th year anniversary was April 7th...so will get (2) batteries tomorrow at Advance Auto.

Remainder of the weekend will be determined how well things go tomorrow and the weather. I do have a fan motor capacitor/starter to install in our 18" high-velocity, oscillating fan...never thought I would find one anywhere...ordered it on eBay (from FanMotorControls, Texas) Monday mid morning; wasn't due to arrive until Tuesday...was in the mail box this morning.

The Singer Base is visible under the slab on the second picture. It has a primer on it, the customer is going to paint it. I just had it to make sure the slab would fit and see how to attach it.

but let me know if you need a better picture of the base.

just finished making my 5th and last bookcase for my office.  still need to edge band the shelves, do that tomorrow AM.  but cannot put it in place yet, as i'm still working on the floor where it's going to go.  likely get it in place about a week from now.  still need to cut some tiles against the walls, then grout, then let the grout cure, then seal the grout.... and then put the bookcase in place.
