ah yes... power vs. non-power tool debate.

i have some of each.

the end goal is to complete the project with whatever skills you have.

after that, you have space limitations, budget limitations (not everyone can afford some pricey power tools), time limitations (some tools work faster than others).

now, if you stick with one type over the other for other reasons, that's a personal preference.  it's not right or wrong, it's just different from others.  and that's ok.

You nailed it Dab, and that is what I am completely confused about, there shouldn't even be a debate, it just is, what it is. It'd be like debating the best brand of underwear! What?

To take a log and make a beautiful chair from it, mostly without power tools, is an awesome achievement. I think I might have given up while splitting the log.

Power tools, hand tools...it really doesn't matter much to me. I can turn a piece of fine lumber into a pile of shavings and sawdust with either although it does take slightly longer with hand tools:rolleyes: At the end of the day, the mess is about the same.:P

It's a wonderful talent to have for sure Al, he is a master at his craft, though I doubt he'd admit to that.
