June 6, 20187 yr Popular Post Today is the 74th anniversary of D Day, and I didn't find anything in the news or TV schedule about it. Many thanks to all WWII veterans, alive or dead, and their families and friends. hat
June 6, 20187 yr Thanks for posting this. I cannot fathom the bravery these young men must have had to be able to storm the Normandy beaches.
June 6, 20187 yr Thanks so much Hat for the recognition, typically I have an in depth topic regarding D-Day but I got way behind on my duties, and I am on the road, thanks for bringing this up.
June 6, 20187 yr @hatuffej I hope you don't mind, I edited in a link to Ron Dudelston's topic last year for D-Day.

Like you I saw nothing on the TV news or even in our newspaper today. I did hear one radio station during a news break make mention of it just a little bit ago, but that's it. Like Lew, I can't imagine the courage and resolve of each wave of men landing on those beaches on that day.

June 6, 20187 yr This is what got me this morning - Almost everyday, MSN has a "This Day in History". D-Day was not mentioned! The of the battle of Midway was, but not D-Day. This had a separate article, but nothing on This Date in History.
June 7, 20187 yr Full media press here: paper, radio, TV. Bravery and a Sargent's boot sole emptied those boats! And some kid with a gold bar that got to be first.
