October 17, 20196 yr My biggest complaint with big box plywood is the size. When I buy cabinet grade it is an exact 3/4” and I don’t have to play around with my dado to get a tight fit. Veneer is thicker too.

October 17, 20196 yr I have been paying $68.50 for the oversize oak plywood this year. Not at Lowes or BORG, much better quality than what they carry. I think about 2 more sheets ought to get this phase of the project done...
October 17, 20196 yr Author well, it's been a quiet 6 months here, since my last visit. and then i get all sorts of email notifications about this thread. it's just plywood.

Everyday. You will have to apply online and I don't remember the steps but well worth all the effort. I get the 10% discount every time I shop at HD or Lowes. Over time it really adds up. Recently bought and had some vinyl fencing installed by HD contractor. Total was $3250.00 before the 10% off. $2875.00 after the discount. It held up well thru the strong winds last night and today. October 17, 20196 yr You are right, Al. Those discounts are nice. They don't seem to carry much hardwood plywood, though.
October 18, 20196 yr Luckily for me, there is a Highland Hardwoods about 20 miles from me in tax free New Hampshire. That's where I get my hardwoods. Good deals on lumber in their shorts bins "under 4 ft " for small projects. HD and Lowes are about 1 mile from my home. Lowes has whatever cedar I need. Mostly used for outdoor yard projects or decking. Edited October 18, 20196 yr by Al B
