March 30, 20188 yr Popular Post comment_145152 Took an Inventory of the "better" pieces of Pine in the shop....mainly leftovers from the last project build.. A 1 x 2, a 1 x 4, a 1 x 12, and a stack of 1 x 6s.....There is still a stick of this stuff.. That may get set aside and made into a fancy little box....resaw work. Some of the rest need trimmed, here and there.. Yeah... Might have an idea about what this mess can be made into... Kind of out grown this til. Room for 6, has 12 in it....at the moment...Will do a bit of research and see what I can cobble up, to fit these into a better spot. Might be getting a spot over beside the drillpress, as I don't need or want that scrollsaw sitting there. Have only used it a couple times, just collecting grime, right now. May get stashed away, and the space used for other things. Stay tuned.. Report

March 30, 20188 yr comment_145163 Yeah, it is getting a little crowded there. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Report
March 30, 20188 yr comment_145194 I agree with you on the scroll saw just taking up space. I took mine off stand and put in unused area . Report

March 31, 20188 yr Author Popular Post comment_145235 Things got both ugly..and busy this morning....ugly part, first... Yeah, yeah, yeah....The other "ugly" part? Which I NOW have to clear off. Move the drill press to the left as far as it will go. Need to make some room. And, now the "Busy" part... Used a brace to set the spacing of these slots.. Backsaw to make a few cuts..some were a tad narrow..then.. Pop the waste out with a chisel and Lew's Mallet... The two end pieces were cut at a bevel.. Wanted a bit of lean back. Drill and countersink a few holes.. That turned out to be the wrong direction...oh, we have ways....Cut two filler blocks, angled to match the sides. Glue and screws to attach the blocks to the rack. then attach to the sides of the til. I also added a screw to reinforce the slots.. When I first laid out the parts, sides were to sit on top of the base...oops. Like this way better...Ready to see the entire project? 3 screws holding it in place, for now. 11 drills. #12 was a tad too big, it is now "hanging out" with the eggbeaters.. There is enough room on the base, for trays and drill indexes. Maybe later on, I can add a back and a top? Just using up the leftovers. Will update as things go along, stay tuned.. Report

March 31, 20188 yr Author comment_145244 Have to move all this junk out of the way.. And move the drill press all the way to the left. Scroll saw and the 1 x 30 sander may have to find new homes. May add a shelf or two lower down... Report
