February 16, 20188 yr A piece of leather, rough side up, on a flat board and charged with jeweler's rouge works better for a final polish. As Stick said, slate is hard to keep flat.
February 16, 20188 yr Just wondering: Would a flat piece of granite work for a final sharpening? I have access to a pc. about 12"x12". Hmmm, I might just try this. Has anyone else tried it, and if so, how does it work?
