February 3, 20188 yr Popular Post Thanks to John Morris, Laguna, the patriot raffle and some luck, I used the Laguna certificate to buy a SuperMax 16-32 Drum Sander. today I assembled it and now I am studying the Operator Manual. I even got a free beat up pallet I can give away to someone to nail up on their living room wall. Here are the pictures. Herb
February 3, 20188 yr Hope you enjoy it . Nothing like a wide belt sander. Maybe you should sand the pallet before you give it away so the wall hanging will be smoooth.
February 3, 20188 yr Dadio let me pass on some good advise I got when I bought my drum sander... This one I got as the high bidder from a school auction.. The teacher at that school told me they had to replace the conveyer belt more times than he wanted to admit because people would set paint cans and other bad things on the belt when not in use and other people would knock things over and ruin the belts.. So he said, when you get it home, give it some thought.. So I did and I cut a piece of BB a hair larger than the exact size and that belt is always covered. And yes there is always something stored on the sander caused there is flat areas on both sides which flat areas are at a premium in my shop as probably the same in any shops, hard to come by... my belt for a 22x44" sander is about 86.00 the last time I checked. Oh if you ever need a complete motor and belt assembly brand new, Chips N Dust sent me one even though it is your size I did drill some holes in my frame for a 16 x 32 set up.. When I first got the one going after the auction for some strange reason I couldn't make it track right..... but then all of a sudden its okay and don't especially need the 16 x 32...
February 3, 20188 yr Author I don't set anything on any of my tools except what I am cutting. But that is a good suggestion, if I ever have the desire to do so. As far as getting the feed belt to track correctly is an exercise in itself. once the sweet spot in the tension is found ,they usually stay on track, some machine s are more forgiving than others. February 3, 20188 yr Author Maybe I will just keep a few pieces to lay in the caravan when I want to haul stuff. Herb
February 3, 20188 yr If the pieces are 20x27" I need all you got. This is the size I glue on to the back of the 1000 pieces jig saw puzzles we put together during the winter months. Then build frames for... Can you deliver next week.. The doc tells us puzzles are good to keep alls heimers in check. Or put in other words, when we die our brains will still be in tip top shape.
February 3, 20188 yr Was it big enough for homeless house? Might have kept the cold wind off of someone.
