February 12, 20188 yr I never seen the need to have separate light duty clamps on hand... light duty can't do do heavy work/jobs but heavy duty clamps can do light work... Edited February 12, 20188 yr by Stick486

I'm talking about the 6" and 18" clamps in the picture in the original post. Maybe they don't have a place in your shop, and that's fine. Everybody has their own style of working. I have a few, and I use them frequently.

February 13, 20188 yr I tried one of the HF plastic squeeze clamps and blew the sides out on the first use. But, the F Styles work just fine. I've got plenty of long panel clamps, both pipes and the flat ratcheting type but, if I needed more, I'd give the HF ones a shot.

I got a big blood blister on the web of my hand between the thumb and fore finger. Herb
February 13, 20188 yr I started buying HF plastic spring clamps when I started building the go- cart track in 1981-82 . Lots and lots of the 14 piece sets back then, some of all sizes in each set... I guess maybe I knew how to use them for I still have most all those clamps and still have them clamped to the sides of 2 pieces of resawed lumber... .I've had 3 or 4 to break since then but they gave me credit like they said they would...so I missed the drift of the conversations but I am happy with the clamps..
October 21, 20196 yr Talking about clamps.... Anyone know where I can buy another one like this... I love it but I could never find another...

After the two clamps are tighten on two different chunks of wood the third handle is turned and that bring the two chunks together tight. Sure would love to find another. I've watched E-bay for years. Never seen another. I can find no mark or any name on it anywhere.
October 21, 20196 yr I've not seen this clamp before but it looks like another version of a three way clamp.. Might not be intended for woodworking...

October 23, 20196 yr Keith, my boards are too sensitive for those. I even have to put pads on my clamps. Even then, they protest when squeezed too tight. Edited October 23, 20196 yr by Gene Howe
October 23, 20196 yr Those pinch dogs are simply amazing, as long as you are going to waste away or hide the areas where the points go into, they have incredible squeezing force.
October 24, 20196 yr Pinch dogs are handy especially when pulling a good fits on counter tops. The spring clamps would be good for corners,etc.. I want a set but I'm too cheap...
