My New Year’s resolution is to hand plane one side of every rough cut piece of lumber rough cut lumber I get.... Well, under 4ft maybe, cuz it’s like running a 10k.

Nice work.  A couple of swipes would have been enough for me.

 

Before power planers both sides of the board were done that way.  I am sure there were guys that their job was to do that all day long.  Wouldn't have wanted to be on the wrong side of them when they were having a bad day.

Well, I'm impressed... Roy Underhill would be ecstatic.

Hard maple does smell pretty good, not like teak though, that’s my fav......

Funny, that’s actually the one I have.... it’s not terrible for a uni-motor, , but I do miss my 15”
