Finally got it done. Mod to the design; pegged the tabs with toothpicks cut to size, added a bottom with tabs (also pinned). No glue used.:

That's some serious cutting. Good looking basket. About how many hours at the saw?

Took about 2 hrs of actual cutting. I used 1/4 poplar from HD, stained with Minwax dark walnut #2716.

@Wichman3, that's a classic design! I love it. Any idea of the history behind the style?

Not really, It's from one of the Spielman Books.
