December 3, 20178 yr Popular Post comment_133188 Every year for the past five or so years at Christmas time I make a couple dozen ball and cup games. I take them over to the local Akron Children's Hospital and give them to the volunteers to pass out to the children who have the misfortune of being in the hospital at this time of year. I figure even if confined to the bed they may still be able to play the game. Here is this years batch completed today. I use pine 4X4s to make them but I buy the balls at Pat Catans craft supply store. They have three coats of Shellac on them. Report

December 5, 20178 yr comment_133394 Hey since you are making the string also, why not make it red, white and green striped for the holidays colors... We use to make our own string for our tops which was before nylon came along but there was only white back then. Just thinking out loud on what would make those more special but they already have your special signature all over them!!!! And the girls would want something prettier than what the ole boys get!!! December 5, 20178 yr Author comment_133399 I use a standard three strand wind from the store. I tried the nylon yellow mason/marking string but it doesn't hold the twist well when the ball gets to spinning. Report
