PostalTom Posted November 28, 2017 Report Posted November 28, 2017 Yep. I have learned my most valuable lessons thru mistakes, which luckily have left me uninjured, except for my wallet. Cal, p_toad and HARO50 1 2 Quote

Popular Post schnewj Posted November 29, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted November 29, 2017 It's not always preventing the mistakes that make you good at woodworking...but, how you recover from the mistakes you make, does... Harry Brink, HARO50, p_toad and 3 others 6 Quote
Popular Post kmealy Posted November 29, 2017 Author Popular Post Report Posted November 29, 2017 (edited) It's not a mistake, it's a learning opportunity. Or a chance to re-consider the design. I have a friend that I've helped out from time to time. He would always irritate me with the comment, "It sure is easy when you have the right tools." I felt like telling him I had a very nice violin upstairs if he'd like to do some Vivaldi for me. Edited November 29, 2017 by kmealy HandyDan, Harry Brink, p_toad and 4 others 5 2 Quote

Gene, are you inferring that if you had half a brain it would be lonely? Seriously, your not alone! Every once in awhile "self" says, to me "why did you do that, dumbarse"? Gene Howe Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 I've never checked but, I think both halves are there. They just don't get used a lot. p_toad, Cal, HARO50 and 1 other 2 2 Quote

Dadio Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 Best mistake I ever made was woodworking. I learned to cut wood with a bow saw when I was 5 years old and thought it was a mistake then but my mom sure made some good bread from burning it. So I might say I burned my mistakes. Al B Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 I'm sure both halves are with me. Problem is, they don't always agree with each other. Causes a lot of confusion. Cal, HARO50 and schnewj 3 Quote
Snailman Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 I make plenty of mistakes (learning opportunities). I kind of like it when it happens. It forces me to try to be creative, which I don't get to do in my day to day. HARO50 and Cal 2 Quote
Popular Post Grandpadave52 Posted November 30, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted November 30, 2017 Dad reminded me often I should learn from the mistakes of others because I wouldn't live long enough to make them all myself. kmealy, Cal, HARO50 and 2 others 1 4 Quote
