Very well put.

Yep.  I have learned my most valuable lessons thru mistakes, which luckily have left me uninjured, except for my wallet.

Mistakes define my woodworking.:(

It's not always preventing the mistakes that make you good at woodworking...but, how you recover from the mistakes you make, does...

It's not a mistake, it's a learning opportunity.  Or a chance to re-consider the design.

I have a friend that I've helped out from time to time.   He would always irritate me with the comment, "It sure is easy when you have the right tools."    I felt like telling him I had a very nice violin upstairs if he'd like to do some Vivaldi for me.

Tools don’t design or build it. Your imagination and hands to.

The hands and the brain are our best tools. I use my hands a lot.

Gene, are you inferring that if you had half a brain it would be lonely?:lol::lol:

Seriously, your not alone! Every once in awhile "self" says, to me "why did you do that, dumbarse"?:o

I've never checked but, I think both halves are there. They just don't get used a lot.

Best mistake I ever made was woodworking. I learned to cut wood with a bow saw when I was 5 years old and thought it was a mistake then but my mom sure made some good bread from burning it. So I might say I burned my mistakes.

I have two minds. One is lost and the other is out looking for it.

I'm sure both halves are with me. Problem is, they don't always agree with each other. Causes a lot of confusion.

I make plenty of mistakes (learning opportunities). I kind of like it when it happens. It forces me to try to be creative, which I don't get to do in my day to day.

Dad reminded me often I should learn from the mistakes of others because I wouldn't live long enough to make them all myself.

why make the same mistake twice...

too many other new ones to give a try...
