Hey folks! Not only must you tell us what your week of woodworking agenda is, but now you are officially required to tell us your Thanksgiving plans too!!!

No shop time for a while.

We're gearing up for "Santa" visits starting Friday. Looks like another very busy year!

THE SHOP IS CLEAN. I promise never to let it go that long again...until next time.

Got the engraver off the patio and into the shop. Covered with oil cloth to keep out the saw dust. 

Got some more rearranging of machines and equipment to do. No more furniture building. From now on, nothing bigger than a bread box. Well...maybe.  scheduled is a mesquite river table and a TV table, one more rifle case and THEN, I can down size the projects. 

Wednesday, we head down the mountain to Tucson. Our twin sons' birthdays are the day after Thanksgiving. Our newly pregnant DIL's is shortly after. Her 40th. We'll head back to the mesa on Monday. 

In case I forget....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

There is a "how to" of sorts......Peter Jackson describing all that went into building the house used as Beorn's abode......and, for you carvers on here....check out all the details they used.     Note  how the chair was carved, as well.     Not sure IF it is on youtube, as  all I have seen is in the "extended version"  DVDs.   Film is called The  Desolation of Smoag......

Finished the highchair, still have a few more projects to make before Christmas.

Oldest son due in this evening so today is last shop day till Saturday. Hope to sight in new scope tomorrow.

Money orders cashed.....did a wee bit of shopping....BIG chisel, a #5 eggbeater drill, and four brace bits.....$20 + Tax....film at 2300 hrs....

Swim meet on Saturday...we won & both girls had good days. Youngest beat her previous best breast-stroke time (from summer swim team) by nearly 4 seconds...got a second losing to the opposing team's Senior...4+" of rain Saturday with 40-50 mph winds postponed outdoor activities. Sump pump in storm cellar (well pump location) ran near continuous for 26 hours.

 

Away swim meet tomorrow...Thanksgiving Day plans still developing...on a need to know basis...when I need to know, they'll tell me.

Still not up for shop time. Physical therapy still on the bench for me.

Thanksgiving day the me and the wife will be going to see a movie. We will be getting some of that Turkey Popcorn with butter.

Better get a second mortgage unless you're smuggling in your own. 

With winter snow not far away, I've moved the snow blower into the shop. Still leaves a little room to do "whatever" during the winter. The wood stove heats the shop if any repairs are needed and for any small project that might come up. Thanksgiving is a sad reminder of my son's passing, but an opportunity to spend the day with his family remembering happy times.

Have to finish up the presents for the WW club members and go to my sisters for the family TG get together on Thursday.

Ok,Tuesday shows up...new starter has been installed on the van......van is now fixed!    Amazing what NOT being a Monday can do...
