What to do with sawdust

WOW!, I'm glad I asked before I tried it. Back in my old shop in Massachusetts, I had some pine trees and loads of pine needles behind my shop. I just dumped it there. My shop was heated with radiant heat. Now my shop has a wood stove. If I have to empty the drum during the winter I have burnt it as the video in the message chain shows. But my last bag went straight into the green waste container that our city provides, I have no idea where they take it. Thanks for all the post, carry on making the sawdust folks.

I take my sawdust to 0ur city compost site. It is open in the summer from May to mid Nov, I save winter sawdust until spring.

I spread it out across my 120' x 120' garden area.

Assume you know, but worth mentioning for newcomers, don't use on a garden if it contains walnut, cedar and especially any treated wood. Same if using in horse stalls...extremely toxic to horses.

The Russians found a good use for sawdust. They add it to the bread dough!

My BIL used to work for a bakery.  It was the "cellulose" ingredient in Roman Meal bread.

Yeah, our palates have been deadend by McDonald's and Chef Boyardee. Whose gonna notice a little sawdust in their bread?

I can't remember what I do with my saw dust? It must go somewhere!IMG_9549.JPG.96999bd71647a081dc6e1c1390afa55b.JPG

When I get through here the lawn mower spreads it around the yard.  You aught to see the little miniature dwarf

maple trees coming up each spring.

Clones?

I think I'm the only one in the country that can sprout trees from planer shavings. Gotta get to a patent office as real quick!  Even my wife believes me.

Only thing my sawdust pile grows is bigger.
