November 1, 20178 yr I used to sell my chairs regularly, and I still do sometimes, but it's not my primary income, if I feel like making a chair, ya, I'll put a price on it, if it sells, cool, if not, that's fine too. I would like to be in craft shows though, when I retire, for fun. I make a great living building bridges and roads, it's allowed mama to stay home with the kids, and I've provided for my family with only my day job. If I sell a chair, it's fun money in the bank, I've sold my sculpted rockers that paid for family vacations and other luxuries, we went to Tahoe off one rocker a couple years ago, and that is where that money goes, vacations, fun stuff, a piece of jewelry for mama, but sale for a living? Naawww, I'm good.
November 1, 20178 yr Author I'm so sorry John. I guess I got you mixed up with someone here who said they were going into business building rocking chairs after they retired...I certainly was not trying to force anything. Been there and done the business after I kinda retired so was offering what I thought I had learned along the way. And no I haven't been suggesting anything about you not being capable of doing anything you don't want to do. I'll slide back in to my shop, cheers.

I may have in the past talked about chairs during retirement. But I got a ways to go yet before I retire! When I do though, I hope you are around that I can get some very valuable advice from. Thanks for being here Jess. Like i said I do enjoy your work. Keep creating and keep dazzling!
